Your privacy is our top priority. LiteDL is designed from the ground up to collect as little data as possible. This policy explains exactly what we do — and don't do — with your information.

1. What We Collect

LiteDL does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal information to use the service.

When you use LiteDL, the only data that passes through our servers is:

  • The Instagram URL you paste into the input field — used solely to fetch the media.
  • Standard server access logs (IP address, timestamp, user-agent) retained for up to 7 days for security and abuse-prevention purposes only.

We do not store, log, or retain Instagram URLs after your download is served. We do not store downloaded media files on our servers.

2. Cookies & Tracking

LiteDL does not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party analytics that identify you personally.

We may use anonymous, aggregate analytics (e.g. page view counts) to understand general usage patterns. No personal data is collected or shared with analytics providers.

3. How Your Data Is Used

The limited data we process is used exclusively to:

  • Fulfil your download request in real time.
  • Detect and mitigate abuse, spam, and excessive automated requests.
  • Maintain the security and availability of the service.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third party.

4. Third-Party Services

LiteDL fetches publicly available content from Instagram using Instagram's public API endpoints. By using LiteDL you also interact with Instagram's infrastructure. We encourage you to review Instagram's Privacy Policy.

Our infrastructure may be hosted on third-party cloud providers. These providers process data on our behalf under strict data-processing agreements and do not have access to your Instagram URLs beyond what is required to route network traffic.

5. Data Retention

Instagram URLs you submit are processed in memory and discarded immediately after your download link is generated. We retain no record of what content you downloaded.

Server access logs (IP, timestamp, user-agent) are automatically deleted after 7 days.

6. Children's Privacy

LiteDL is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal data to us, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

7. Security

All communication between your browser and LiteDL is encrypted via HTTPS. We apply industry-standard security practices including rate limiting, bot detection, and server hardening to protect the service and its users.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of LiteDL after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
