Instagram Photo Downloader

Full-resolution JPEG from single-image posts

Instagram Photo Downloader

Built for single-image Instagram posts. LiteDL saves the photo as a full-resolution JPEG — square, portrait, or landscape — straight from a public post URL. Need every slide from an album? Switch to the Carousel downloader instead of pasting here.

How to download an Instagram photo

Three steps for a single-image post: open the photo, copy its link, save the JPEG.

1

Open the photo post

Find the single-image Instagram post you want to keep offline.

2

Copy the post URL

Use Share → Copy Link, or copy the address bar URL on the web.

3

Download the JPEG

Paste above, run Download, and save the full-resolution image file.

What you get from a photo download

This page is about still images: JPEG output, Instagram aspect ratios, and original resolution — not video or Reels.

Original JPEG resolution

Retrieves the largest image URL Instagram exposes for that public post — typically up to ~1080 × 1350 for portrait photos.

Square, portrait & landscape

Works with 1:1, 4:5, and wide feed photos so orientation matches what you saw on Instagram.

Single-post focused

Optimized for one photo per URL. Multi-image posts belong on the Carousel page so each slide is listed separately.

Browser-only download

Paste the link on phone or desktop. No Instagram login and no desktop app required for public photos.

Instagram photo download FAQ

Resolution, JPEG format, aspect ratios, and when to use Carousel instead of Photo.

What file format do Instagram photos download as?

Photos are saved as JPEG — the same format Instagram serves for public image posts. They open in any standard image viewer or editor.

What resolution will I get?

LiteDL retrieves the largest version Instagram stores for that post. Portrait photos commonly reach up to about 1080 × 1350 px; square and landscape use Instagram’s max for that aspect ratio.

Which aspect ratios are supported?

Square (1:1), portrait (4:5), and landscape (about 1.91:1) single-photo posts are all supported.

Should I use Photo or Carousel for multi-image posts?

Use this Photo page for a single-image post. If the post has multiple swipeable slides, use the Carousel downloader so every slide gets its own download button.

Can I download photos from private accounts?

No. Only photos that are visible without logging into Instagram can be downloaded.

Does LiteDL compress or re-encode the photo?

No. The JPEG is fetched at the resolution Instagram already stores. LiteDL does not add a watermark or apply its own compression pass.

Can I download the image from a photo-only carousel slide?

Yes, but paste the carousel post URL into the Carousel downloader so you can pick the exact slide. This Photo page is optimized for single-image posts.
